Xanatseni Private Camp is situated within the Savanna Biome which covers 32% of South Africa. The camp is known for its dense Mopane forest which is unique to this part of the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. Recently upgraded, Xanatseni Private Camp is a thatched, full board camp which provides absolute comfort while retaining the charm and ambiance of a bygone safari era. It has 5 main bedrooms, a boma area with camp fire, perfect for enjoying sundowners or evening drinks around the fire.

The Camp is located within the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve (KPNR) which is one of the largest privately owned nature reserves in South Africa. The KPNR is part of the greater Kruger National Park.

Situated within the Savanna Biome which covers 32% of South Africa. The Savanna biome is classified as a vegetation type consisting of both a tree and grass layer. The camp is known for its dense Mopane forest which is unique to this part of the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve.

Savannas are found within an annual rainfall range which ranges from less than 200 mm to 1500 mm per year. The wet season occurs between the months of November to March. Summers, in the months of January to April, are hot to extremely hot with a long term mean maximum temperature of 38 °C.

It has 5 main bedrooms and can sleep up to 12 guests including a room that can accommodate a family of 4, a boma area with camp fire, perfect for enjoying sundowners or evening drinks around the fire. Offering 2 Game Drives daily with a qualified guide & walking trails available on request.

Lion Room:
The Lion room sleeps 2 people, has it’s own en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower and his & hers sinks. It also features a small dressing table, ample cupboards for storage, and sliding doors that open onto the back garden and pool area.

Leopard Room:
This room comfortably sleeps two people. It has an en-suite bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower, as well as a bath and his and her sinks. The room walks out onto a deck that has a wonderful view of the bush, and sliding doors that open on to the main area of the camp.

Buffalo Room:
This room comfortably sleeps two people. It has an en-suite bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower, as well as a bath and his and her sinks.The room walks out onto a deck that has a wonderful view of the bush, and sliding doors that open on to the main area of the camp

Giraffe Room:
comfortably sleeps 4 people. It has 2 single beds and a double bunk bed. It has its own en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower and sink. It also features a cupboard for storage, and sliding doors that open onto the back garden and pool area.

Zebra Room:
The Zebra room comfortably sleeps 2 people. It is the furtherst away from the main living area. It has a double bed and it’s own en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower and sink. It has a cupboard for storage, and sliding doors that open onto the main centre area of the camp.

Location:

Xanatseni Private Camp is located in the Klaserie region of the Greater Kruger park, close to Hoedspruit and approximately 5-6 hours driver from Johannesburg International Airport.The simplest and most affordable way to get between Johannesburg and the lodge is to make use of the Ashtons Kruger Shuttle, which operates daily in both directions between Johannesburg and Hoedspruit. Please note that the shuttle rates are included in our packages. Before/after the 5-6 hour road transfer you will be transferred between the Timbavati gate (at Bush Pub & Inn) and Xanatseni Camp. Getting to and from Xantseni Camp could not be simpler!

  • The Greater Kruger is a malaria area – please take your own precautions
  • Walking shoes, neutral coloured clothing, rain jacket and warm jersey/jacket
  • Hat and sunglasses, sun block and insect repellent
  • Torch, camera & binoculars
  • Toiletries and any personal items
  • Cash for entrance fees and drinks (no ATM’s in the bush)
  • Booking prerequisite: guests must have adequate travel insurance to cover any emergency, casualty evacuation, and/or hospitalization for the full period of their safari

Rates Include

DAY 1

Meet the Ashtons Kruger Shuttle at OR Tambo Airport bus Terminal 06h45 and start your journey to the Kruger. On arrival in the Greater Kruger the shuttle will drop you off at the Bush Pub Inn situated closed the to Timbavati main gate where you will be met by your onwards transfer that will take you into the reserve to your Lodge (Xanatseni Camp) and get you settled in before Lunch is served, followed by an afternoon guided game activity and dinner.

DAYS 2 – 3 (or more)

During Summer, an early wake-up call at 05h00 and 05h45 in winter- adventure out on your morning game drive.

Back at camp by 09h30 you will enjoy a hearty breakfast. Between 11h00-14h30 guest have time to themselves, relax with a book or take a dip in the pool. Enjoy Lunch at 14h30 and board your game viewing vehicle at 16h00 Afternoon/evening game drive. Return to the Lodge at 19h30 and freshen up before dinner at 20h30.

FINAL DAY

Set off at first light for your final guided game activity – appreciating the typical scents and sounds of the bush you’ll realize how much you’ve learned already! After breakfast back at the safari camp it’s time to pack up and say our reluctant goodbyes; you are then transferred back to meet the Ashtons Kruger Shuttle at 10h45 bound for Johannesburg. Whatever you have seen and done you will have had an up-close and personal experience of the real African bush and wildlife! And a whole new world of experiences awaits for your next visit
